What a information officer actually does?

i want to go at national academy of information but i don't know what an officer in information actaully does ... i mean i don't want to stay behind a desk and complete papers ... i know i have to take some exams at my language, psychology abd a foreign language ... so can you tell me what should i expect from this. i mention that i had choosen to try here because i like psychology and i'm very good at learnig a foreign language (doesn't matter which one)
