My car mechanic told me that they possibly couldn't fix my car, and it's as good as dead. Any advice?

your master mechanic is clearly related to larry , mo and curly of the three stooges, dump a worthless mechanic, and find one who has the tools, and knows how to get the job done. That is a lame explanation if I ever heard one.
